THE MOST COMMON DEFECTS

  • Scorch (Appears as a wavy wrinkle surface on the rubber part)
  • Delamination (appears radially around the part and appears like a cut but not as straight.)
  • Under Cure (sticky and poorly formed part and do not hold their shape)
  • Thick Flash (flash over thickness requirements which may cause a trim problem)
  • Blisters (sub-surface lumps)
  • Poc-Marks (round shaped shallow dimples on the rubber surface)
  • Chipped Lips (Appears as missing rubber at the sealing area)
  • Trapped Air (Appears as a spongy area and under cured)
  • Poor Bond (Rubber can easily be removed from the metal.)
  • Flow Marks (appears as a channel in the rubber surface.)
  • Non Fills (Rubber missing from part)
  • Cuts / Broken (appear to open up more around the part as you stress it)
  • Backrined (Appears at parting line flash)
